Why do Psychology?

What do our dreams really mean? How do psychiatrists know whether someone is mentally ill or not? If you would like to be able to answer these type of questions with scientific answers, you will love Psychology! Psychology is about the way our mind works and students of psychology will study how our thoughts, feelings and body interact to explain what we do.

What will I study?

You will cover a range of exciting and interesting topics during the course, which will include different approaches to Psychology (e.g. Cognitive, Behavioural, Physiological, Social) and areas such as forensics, clinical psychology, personality development and mental health. You will also be given the opportunity for independent research in an area of Psychology that interests you.

The extra stuff at RSFC

There will be lots of opportunities for trips and visits outside the classroom. You will be working with outstanding up-to-date materials and resources, in state-of-the art classrooms. Psychology students will also be interested in enrichment activities such as counselling.

What can I do with Psychology after college?

A high proportion of Psychology students will go on to study Psychology or a related degree at University. Many others will go on to work in fields of employment where Psychology studies are an advantage – teaching, nursing, physiotherapy or social work, for example. Psychology can lead to some very well paid and exciting careers.

What do I need to do Psychology?

You will need to meet the normal college entry criteria for AS/A2 courses.
